Taking his work beyond traditional design, he pulls inspiration from a variety of disciplines—from interiors and architecture, to digital and illustration practices—emphasizing strategy and authenticity. Alex’s career began in Boston at the experiential PR agency Cercone Brown Company. As the firm’s first in-house designer, he worked on a range of clients from non-profits, to food and beverage, to fashion, establishing agency standards, and adding a layer of creative strategy to all accounts. Alex went on to work as a freelance designer for a variety of clients across multiple industries, with a focus on branding, visual identity development and packaging design. In recent years, his blossoming interest in the kitchen emerged out of a search for ways to connect more deeply with his heritage—sparking a passion for hospitality design that led him to Carbonate. Alex holds a B.A. in Visual Communications from Purdue University. When he's not behind a computer or sketchbook, he's often working on a craft or design project, and spending time with his cats.
