  • Founded in 2015 by two chefs, Four Star Seafood & Provisions provides quality seafood and specialty products to some of the best restaurants in San Francisco. In 2018, we helped the team define their brand and begin to differentiate from their competition by highlighting their direct to fisherman relationships and the unique perspectives that chefs bring to sourcing and ingredient selection.

    When COVID-19 eliminated their restaurant business, this innovative company immediately pivoted to a direct-to-consumer model. They were met with tremendous community support and in just a short time acquired over 5,000 new customers and built out an online marketplace with over 700 products. Carbonate supported this growth with customer segmentation, email marketing, and social media advertising campaigns.

  • With the holidays approaching, Four Star realized they had another opportunity. Using their existing inventory, our team helped curate a selection of holiday gift offerings, including a very popular San Francisco-style cioppino. Customers loved having everything they needed to make this classic dish. Four Star had eliminated the most difficult part, finding and selecting the ingredients. Carbonate developed a strategic ad campaign to promote the holiday specials and attract new customers. The campaign attracted hundreds of new customers and brought in significant incremental income.
