Katie Haggart

Senior Strategist

Few strategists have experienced hospitality from as many angles as Katie. Combining years in professional kitchens with hospitality consulting and brand strategy, she brings a uniquely well-rounded perspective to Carbonate’s work. As a Senior Strategist, Katie supports the agency's content strategy, trend research, and thought leadership initiatives, helping clients uncover meaningful consumer insights and translate them into stronger brands, concepts, and guest experiences.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A in journalism, Katie began her career in advertising, launching award-winning campaigns for the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Feeling a pull towards the culinary world, Katie enrolled in L'Academie de Cuisine, graduating first in her class. She went on to cook at the Michelin-starred Blue Duck Tavern, helped open Fabio Trabocchi's Fiola Mare, and served as opening Executive Sous Chef for Stomping Ground in Alexandria, Virginia. She later spent four years as a consultant at af&co., where she spearheaded the annual af&co./Carbonate Hospitality Trends Report, before becoming one of Carbonate's earliest team members. After gaining additional experience across the industry, Katie is excited to return to Carbonate as Senior Strategist.

Outside of work, she’s usually planning her next trip around a great meal, escaping Minnesota winters by attending hot yoga, or cheering on her kids at the hockey rink.
