The Brief
Situated on the waterfront of San Francisco’s Embarcadero, with panoramic views of the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, and city skyline, Waterbar and Epic Steak had built strong reputations—but their digital presence no longer reflected the elevated in-person experience guests had come to love. With evolving guest expectations and prime revenue opportunities across private dining and events, the restaurants needed to revitalize key brand touchpoints to better support business goals and elevate the overall user experience.
Carbonate began with a comprehensive brand audit to uncover gaps and identify opportunities across each restaurant's digital and experiential footprint. We led the design and launch of two new BentoBox websites, strategically crafted to capture the restaurants’ distinct personalities, optimize user journeys, and support operational goals like private dining inquiries and reservations.
As part of the refresh, we also refined the visual identity systems for both concepts—updating typography, color palettes, and visual elements to ensure cohesion across platforms. To further elevate the storytelling, we provided art direction for new photography and videography, helping to translate the panoramic views, exceptional service, and refined menus into compelling digital content that invites guests in before they even book a table.
